Spensley Smart Homes, LLC ("Spensley," "we," or "us") is a small home technology business based in the Chicago area, operated by Grant Spensley. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, how we use it, and what choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language. If anything here is unclear, email us at spensleysmarthomes@gmail.com and we'll explain it.
What we collect
When you fill out our contact form. Our contact form is powered by a service called Tally. When you submit the form, we receive the information you provide, typically your name, email address, phone number, and a description of your project. That information is stored on Tally's servers and forwarded to us so we can respond.
When you visit any page on our site. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the site is being used. This service is cookieless and does not track individual visitors. It collects general information like which pages get visited, the country or region the visit came from, the type of browser or device, and the site that referred you. We do not use this data to personally identify visitors.
When the site loads its fonts. Our site uses two typefaces (Roboto Slab and Inter) served by Google Fonts. When your browser requests those fonts, Google receives your IP address as part of the standard request. We do not directly receive or use that information ourselves.
That's it. We do not currently use cookies for advertising or visitor profiling. We don't intentionally store personal information in your browser through cookies, local storage, or similar tracking technologies. We don't have user accounts or logins. We don't process payments through the site. We don't run social media tracking pixels. We don't use Google Analytics or any similar profiling tool.
How we use it
We use the information you submit through the contact form to respond to your inquiry, schedule a consultation, prepare a quote, and provide our services if you choose to hire us. We use site analytics to understand which pages are working and where to improve.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for marketing beyond responding to you directly about the project you contacted us about.
Who else sees your information
A few service providers help us run the site, and each handles a small piece of data on our behalf. Their own privacy policies cover what they do with it:
- Tally processes contact form submissions. See tally.so/privacy-policy.
- Vercel hosts our website and provides analytics infrastructure. Like most web hosting providers, Vercel may process technical request information such as IP addresses, browser details, and request logs as part of delivering and securing the site. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Google delivers our fonts. See policies.google.com/privacy.
We may also share information if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order.
How long we keep it
Contact form submissions stay with us as long as we need them to respond to your inquiry and provide services. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, unless we're legally required to keep it. Analytics data is retained by Vercel according to their policy.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what information we have about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your information from our records

You can also avoid sharing information with us in the first place by not filling out the form and instead reaching out directly by phone or email.
Children
This site is intended for adult homeowners. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our site, please let us know and we'll delete it.
Security
We rely on the security practices of our service providers (Tally, Vercel, Google) to protect information in transit and at rest. No website can guarantee perfect security, but we don't store sensitive information on our own systems and we limit what's collected to what we actually need to do the job.

This website is operated in the United States and intended for customers in the Chicago area.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make significant changes, we'll note them clearly on the site.
